Traffic Case Records in Brazoria County
The court that wrote the ticket owns the case. City Class C citations and ordinance matters go to municipal courts in Pearland, Lake Jackson, Alvin, Angleton, Freeport, Manvel, and other towns. Fine-only criminal and traffic matters fall to eight Brazoria County JP courts, each tied to its precinct and place. County Courts at Law take some Class C appeals. These city and JP systems sit apart from the District Clerk's felony files and the County Clerk's Class A and B misdemeanor records. Searching by city name alone will mislead you. Manvel, for instance, shows up under both JP2-1 and JP4-1, and Alvin appears under JP3-1 while also serving as an annex point for JP1-2. The court printed on the citation is the key.
| Citation source | Record holder | Search route |
|---|---|---|
| City police, code, or animal control | Issuing municipal court | City portal, docket, date form, phone, or counter |
| County or precinct officer | Named JP precinct and place | JP page, Odyssey location, or JP clerk |
| Class C appeal | Assigned County Court at Law | Notice and County Clerk route |
Brazoria County City Ticket Systems
No single municipal database covers the whole county. Pearland links MunicipalRecordSearch and posts a Web Docket. Lake Jackson runs citation, payment, warrant, and court-date request pages. Alvin links a Tyler portal, Angleton publishes detailed appearance and payment rules, and Manvel keeps an official docket archive. Freeport posts no public citation portal. What a search returns differs by city too. Pearland's list gives citation, name, status date and time, and offense. Manvel's archive offers keyword, category, time period, start date, and end date controls. An archive is not always a live case register. When a tool confuses you, contact the court.
Brazoria County JP Location Check
Every Justice of the Peace label pairs a precinct with a place. Brazoria County lists JP1-1 in Lake Jackson, JP1-2 in Freeport, and JP2-1 in Manvel. JP2-2 sits in Angleton, JP3-1 in Alvin, and JP3-2 in Pearland. JP4-1 is in Manvel, and JP4-2 is in West Columbia. A nearby city name proves nothing about which JP holds your county citation. JP4-1 shows the portal sequence clearly. Pick JP4-1 in the location chooser. Then use Criminal Records for status or the JP4-1 Court Calendar for a date. Other JP matters follow the instructions printed for the place on the citation. If Odyssey returns nothing, call that clerk.
Brazoria County Traffic Ticket Lookups
Keep the citation in hand while you search. It carries the court, the number, the offense, and the response date. Trust only an official city, county, or state court source.
- Read the issuing court and determine whether it is municipal or JP.
- Open that court's official page and follow its citation, records, or docket link.
- Enter the citation or case number in the format the court requests.
- Compare the offense, status date, and court setting before acting.
- Call the court if the case is missing, the date differs, or the portal is down.
- Use mail or the counter for a written or certified record request when needed.
The county Odyssey portal offers JP calendar choices, yet it cannot replace each city's municipal system. re:SearchTX falls short as a traffic lookup too. The cited state report says its large document collection excludes criminal case records. When both fail, the clerk confirms the case.
| Pearland Web Docket field | Type | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Citation | Identifier | The ticket number |
| Name | Public docket field | The person listed on the citation |
| Status Date/Time | Date and time | The scheduled or status point |
| Offense | Description | The traffic or ordinance charge |
Lake Jackson Citation Date Channels
Lake Jackson Municipal Court of Record handles Class C citations. They come from police, Code Enforcement, and Animal Control. Find it at 5 Oak Drive, Suite B, Lake Jackson. Call 979-415-2757, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The city also supplies a formal Court Date Request form. Its citation page says to bring the citation, driver's license, and insurance. Pay at the counter, by drop box, automated phone, or online. Be careful: the court warns that payment is a guilty finding. Missing an appearance or payment within ten days can add a charge or warrant. Call promptly if your date has passed.
Traffic Court Dates in Brazoria County
Check any traffic setting record for the issuing court, date, time, citation or case number, offense, and appearance instruction. An old docket list loses to a newer notice. When the two conflict, follow the latest court notice.
| Court | The municipal court or JP place that controls the citation. |
|---|---|
| Citation number | The local identifier, shown here only as citation-as-printed. |
| Status date and time | The scheduled appearance, pre-hearing, trial, or other status point. |
| Offense | The traffic or municipal charge listed by the court. |
| Appearance method | In person, mail, or another option the court expressly allows. |
| Disposition | The recorded result after court action, plea, payment, or order. |
Each city sets dates its own way. Pearland schedules future trial dates after a not-guilty plea, and Angleton runs Wednesday pre-hearings with one jury and one nonjury trial docket per month. Lake Jackson relies on its request form and clerk. Before traveling to Alvin, check its scheduled-hearing link and temporary location.
Alvin Traffic Court's Temporary Location
Alvin Municipal Court moved all in-person operations and dockets to 302 West House Street on January 12, 2026. City Hall is going through construction. The city expected the move to last 24 to 48 months. Confirm the address at 281-388-4250 before you visit. Adults can use Alvin's Tyler municipal portal. Juveniles cannot pay online or by mail and must appear in person. The court takes cash, cashier's check, credit card, or money order, but not personal checks. Under the city's instructions, a mailed payment without an express plea counts as no contest.
Paying a Ticket vs Fighting It
Paying and contesting are different choices with different effects. Several Brazoria County cities state that payment carries a plea or conviction effect. Read the court's notice before sending money. Staff can explain the forms and dates, but they cannot pick a plea for you.
| Path | What it does | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Pay | Resolves the amount under the court's stated plea and judgment rules | Total, plea effect, eligibility limits, and receipt |
| Contest | Requests the court process for a not-guilty plea and trial setting | Plea method, deadline, and future notice |
| Deferred disposition or DSC | Requests a court-approved option if eligible | Eligibility, fees, conditions, and deadline before paying |
| Compliance dismissal | Seeks dismissal under a qualifying correction rule | Proof, time limit, and administrative fee |
Manvel documents driver safety course, deferred disposition, and compliance dismissal rules. Its deferred term runs 30 to 180 days. Each option needs a request and court approval, and an online payment can close an option off.
Do not ignore the date: Failure to appear can add a charge, warrant, or other court action.
Contact the issuing court at once and follow its case-specific instructions.
Angleton Payment Record Warnings
Angleton's court payment page carries a warning worth reading first. Paying online counts as a guilty plea. It becomes a Class C conviction that the court reports to DPS. That result stands unless the driver is already under a deferred order or a driver safety course order. The page also lists a $2 vendor fee, no refunds, and no online payment for juveniles. It also bars cash bond. One more caution: the online list may not show every unpaid ticket.
Two Records: Court File and Driver File
Two different files exist. The traffic court file is the citation case itself, and it can show the issuing court, the offense, the plea, settings, payments, the disposition, and any court order. The Texas Department of Public Safety keeps the state driver record, a separate file with a different custodian and purpose.
| Feature | Court traffic file | Texas driver file |
|---|---|---|
| Custodian | Municipal or JP court clerk | Texas DPS |
| Core content | Citation, settings, filings, plea, payment, disposition | State licensing record under DPS rules |
| Access route | Issuing court portal or clerk | DPS process |
| Limit | Not a complete state driver history | Not the court's full citation file |
Read the court file to learn what happened in the case and when it is set. But one docket entry cannot tell you a full driver history, and it does not guarantee any DPS result.
Freeport Traffic Record Fallback
Freeport's own budget and strategic-plan materials describe a busy Municipal Court. It processes violations and warrants. It collects fines and fees, sets dockets, and holds arraignments and trials. The strategic plan lists a code docket on the first Monday of even months at 2 p.m. Treat that as planning material. Confirm the schedule before you rely on it.
Freeport offers no public online citation portal. Skip the private aggregator sites. Older clerk material lists 200 W. 2nd Street, 979-233-3526, and weekday hours, but confirm those details too. JP1-2, at 210 A W. First Street, is a separate court that handles only its own precinct matters.
Traffic Record Copy Fees
Each municipal or JP court picks its own copy method for a citation file. There is no single countywide fee schedule. Ask the clerk who issued the citation for a plain or certified copy and a cost quote.
| Request | Fee guidance |
|---|---|
| Municipal citation copy | Confirm with issuing city court |
| JP traffic copy | Confirm with named JP clerk |
| County Clerk Class C appeal copy | $1 per page; certification adds $5 per document under published criminal guidance |
| Name search after appeal | $5 under County Clerk criminal guidance |
When you ask, give the citation or cause number, the document, the date, the copy type, and how you want it delivered. For hearing dates across the county, use the Brazoria County court schedule.
