Alvin Court Docket Searches
The city's official Alvin Municipal Court page links two tools: a Court Records Search for detailed case information and scheduled hearings, and the current Tyler Municipal Online Services portal. Use them only when the citation or notice names Alvin Municipal Court. Before you search the docket, have the citation number, the exact name, and an approximate date ready.
- Read the court name printed on the citation.
- Open Alvin’s official Court Records Search link.
- Use the citation or case number before a broad name search.
- Compare the charge, status, and scheduled hearing with the notice.
- Call the clerk or use the proper county court when no city match appears.
Need to confirm something by phone? Alvin Municipal Court lists 281-388-4250 and alvinmc@alvin.gov, with counter hours Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. A portal result tells you where a case stands, but call the clerk when a hearing is close or a notice conflicts with what the screen shows.
Alvin Court Moved in 2026
Alvin Municipal Court moved. Effective January 12, 2026, all in-person operations and dockets relocated temporarily to the Alvin Annex Building, 302 West House Street, Alvin, Texas 77511. City Hall construction drove the change. The city expects to return to 216 West Sealy in 24 to 48 months. Treat that window as an estimate rather than a promised return date.
Before travel: Confirm the active location and hours at 281-388-4250. Do not use an older notice or map pin without checking it against the current city page.
The move changes where you appear and where a docket is posted. It does not hand Alvin cases to a new court system. Municipal records stay with the city court, and JP or county files stay with their own clerks.
Inside the Alvin Municipal Court
Alvin Municipal Court handles Class C criminal, traffic, and ordinance cases for the city. Those are fine-only matters. Class A and B misdemeanors belong to the Brazoria County Courts at Law. Felonies go to the District Courts. A city address alone never gives the Alvin court control over every incident in or near the city limits. The city publicly lists Presiding Judge Mo Ghuneim and Court Administrator Sonya Cates. The list also names deputy clerks Maria Rodriguez, Stacy Hernandez, and Clarice Ruiz, prosecutor Eddie Calderon, and bailiff Patrick Moore. Staffing can change at any time. Treat the names as contact context. They are not a promise about who handles a particular setting.
Alvin Portal Search Boundaries
The city's records-search link is described as a source for detailed case information. It also covers scheduled hearings. The separate Tyler service page identifies Municipal Court. It supports signing in or registering an account. The city publishes no field list for that service. So do not count on any particular search fields. A city portal is not the full Brazoria County docket. It may not show a brand-new citation still being processed. It also may not show a case filed in JP3-1, or a County Court at Law or District Court cause. If the search fails, check the spelling and citation number. Allow time for processing and call the Alvin clerk. An empty screen never proves a case was dismissed.
Finding Alvin Court Dates
Use the city Court Records Search to find a scheduled hearing. Then compare the result with the citation and every later court notice, because a setting can move through a reset or a later order. A payment confirmation does not by itself cancel a hearing unless the court record reflects a permitted resolution.
| Date | The current scheduled day shown by the city court. |
|---|---|
| Time | The docket-call or individual hearing time. |
| Location | Temporary annex at 302 West House Street, subject to confirmation. |
| Case Key | Citation or case number used to identify the file. |
| Status | The current label, which may require clerk explanation. |
Call 281-388-4250 before you appear whenever any detail conflicts, since the announced relocation makes old paperwork risky. Ask which building, room, date, and time currently control.
Alvin Activity Matches Its Scale
Alvin is a mid-size city with a docket to match. The 2020 Census count used for selecting city pages is 27,098. The Texas Office of Court Administration uses a 2023 municipal-report population of 28,633. For September 1, 2023 through August 31, 2024, that report lists 4,874 cases added. It lists 4,874 disposed by Alvin Municipal Court.
Matching totals do not mean each new case closed or that no older case lingered. OCA categories are administrative counts, not tallies of unique people, convictions, payments, dismissals, or warrants. Check the individual Alvin record for an individual outcome.
Alvin Traffic Ticket Lookups
A citation issued into Alvin Municipal Court can be checked through the city records route. Adults may use the city's online payment option for eligible matters. Juveniles cannot. They must pay in person, never online or by mail, so age and case type matter before any transaction begins. Alvin accepts cash, cashier's check, credit card, or money order, but no personal checks. Mail requires a money order or cashier's check with the plea and citation. Without an express written plea, payment counts as a no-contest plea. Pay before the appearance deadline under city instructions. If a ticket names a JP rather than Alvin, see Brazoria County traffic court records.
Alvin Online Service View
The official Alvin Tyler municipal portal is the city's linked service for adult court transactions.
The portal names the municipal service and its accepted electronic payment methods. It is not a complete county docket. Do not use it to infer facts its visible fields do not establish.
Alvin Payment Can Enter a Plea
Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and eCheck all appear on the Tyler payment screen. Seeing them there guarantees nothing about a specific case. Alvin's own instructions govern eligibility, juvenile matters must be handled in person, and personal checks are not accepted.
Read before paying: A mailed payment without an express plea is treated as no contest. Failure to appear can add a charge and violate the promise to appear.
A docket search and a payment button answer different questions. First find the case and its setting; then weigh what payment means under current city directions. Anyone hoping to contest the charge, ask about an option, or sort out a conflict should call the clerk instead of paying.
How Alvin Cases Reach the County
JP Precinct 3, Place 1 sits at 248 Victory Lane, Suite 168, Alvin, Texas 77511. The phone number is 281-331-3524. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. An older county ticket form lists a different George Street address. So confirm before relying on it. The current JP page should control. JP1-2 also lists an Alvin Annex serving both Freeport and Alvin.
Docket flow: Alvin Municipal Court › Brazoria County Courts at Law › Brazoria County District Courts
These levels describe where different case types land. They are not a promise that one case passes through all of them. Class A and B misdemeanors generally go to County Courts at Law. Felonies and district civil or family cases go to District Courts. The docket explains the clerk split. The Brazoria County court docket page breaks down which clerk handles which duty.
Alvin City and JP3-1 Split
Alvin Municipal Court and JP3-1 both serve Alvin residents, yet they are entirely separate courts. Each keeps its own cause numbers. Hearing dates, staff, payment methods, and records are kept separately as well. A city citation belongs at the municipal court. A precinct citation or a civil matter naming JP3-1 belongs with that county office instead.
City docket: Alvin traffic, ordinance, or other municipal Class C case.
JP docket: a matter assigned to a named precinct and place.
County docket: a County Court at Law or District Court cause.
Check the heading on whatever document started the search. Then query the court that actually filed the case. That one habit prevents a false dead end when an Alvin city search cannot surface a county record.
Who Can See Alvin Court Records
Even public municipal docket information faces limits. Juvenile material, sealed items, sensitive identifiers, and anything closed by statute or court order may be withheld or redacted. Redaction strips protected facts from a record that is otherwise releasable. A limited portal display never settles the full legal access question.
Key Rules:
Texas Rule of Judicial Administration 12 addresses access to judicial records in its scope.
Texas Government Code Chapter 552 is the Texas Public Information Act, but excludes the judiciary from its ordinary governmental-body definition.
Texas Family Code Chapter 58 restricts juvenile justice information.
Ask the municipal clerk for the current request route, and bring the citation, exact name, approximate date, and the document needed. A public hearing does not make every attached paper public.
Alvin Municipal Court Source View
The official Alvin Municipal Court source holds the relocation notice, court contacts, records link, payment rules, and appearance information in one place.
Check the city page again before traveling. The annex is temporary, and construction could shift the projected return window.
Alvin County Search Fallback
A docket entry naming a County Court at Law or District Court points to the Brazoria Odyssey Public Access portal. That portal splits into Criminal Records, Civil, Family and Probate Case Records, and Court Calendar modules, each serving a different need. Jail Records covers custody information only. It is not a stand-in for a court docket.
The County Clerk generally keeps county misdemeanor, county civil, and probate files. The District Clerk holds felony and district civil or family records. Concurrent jurisdiction can blur that split, so let the court number and case type decide. re:SearchTX may supplement eligible electronic searches, though its own statewide material says the large collection excludes criminal records.
Alvin Settings Need Fresh Checks
Three conditions argue for fresh checks in Alvin: a temporary courthouse, a moving records link, and case intake timing. A saved address can age out. A scheduled hearing can reset without notice. A citation may take time to appear. None of this means a cause was dismissed.
Before the next event, compare the portal with the latest notice and call the clerk. For an outcome, request the judgment or disposition. For procedural history, ask for the relevant municipal record. A payment receipt proves a transaction, not every step in the Alvin court docket, so keep the citation number handy with each inquiry.
Alvin Failure-to-Appear Effects
Alvin warns that missing a court date can bring an added charge. It can also break the written promise to appear. That warning is reason to search before the deadline. It is also reason to call the clerk directly when the portal shows no recent citation.
Do not assume a warrant exists from a general warning or payment option alone. Ask the Alvin clerk what the record currently says. If the citation names JP3-1 or another court, contact that office instead. Each court controls its own status. Paying the wrong channel will not resolve another court's case.
Alvin Records by Task
Turn to the Court Records Search when detailed city case information or a scheduled hearing is the goal. Use the payment service only for an eligible adult transaction, and only after reading what payment means. Email, telephone, or the temporary counter work better for a conflict, a record request, or a near deadline. Juvenile payments always require the in-person route.
Copy requests succeed when they are precise. Name the person, citation or case number, approximate date, and the record sought, and ask about any charge and how delivery will happen. Court staff can explain available processes. They cannot advise which plea or defense to choose.
